Barcelona shopping | Part 1

April 19, 2019

This past February, I had the chance to hang with some very good friends in Barcelona. We had so much fun shopping around, and I bought tons of new cosmetics 🙂 I’ve been having a great time testing them out and creating new looks. And here’s the first one:

The base

Secret de Maquilleur Soin Correcteur de Teint | Embryolisse

I already have their face cream, which I love, so I decided to give their CC cream a try. It provides medium coverage and works more on correcting the tint. It comes in one shade only, with self-adjusting pigments. What I really like about this product is that it gives my face this rosy glow – I have olive skin, which looks dull with certain products. I looove this product and have been using it every day since I bought it!

The concealer

The overachiever concealer | Huda beauty

Stop everything! This is, by far, one of the best products I bought, and one of the best concealers I have ever tried. It’s thick and provides full coverage – you have to be careful with the amount you use (a little goes a long way), but the texture is perfect. It hardly creases (though every concealer creases at least a little, unfortunately) and it dries super fast, which means you have to apply it quickly. But it also means you hardly need to powder it, and it just blends perfectly with the skin and looks so natural. Love love love.

I bought 2 shades – if you’ve seen my concealer video tutorial, you’ll know why 🙂

The eyes

Mysterious crystal eyeliner | Teeez cosmetics

Teeez cosmetics is a brand I didn’t know before. I loved the creative vibe, the cool packaging, and the fact that they are cruelty-free and proud of it. So I decided to buy two eyeliners in shades “Smoky quartz,” which is between grey and black, and “Rich amber” – a deep brown.

They are basically eye pencils with a glitter effect. I like their texture and how long they last. I would prefer an even creamier texture, as they are a bit too quick to dry (which makes them more difficult to smudge) in my opinion. Also, the glitters are not dominant enough for me – you can hardly see them once you apply it.

Velvet noir mascara | Marc Jacobs

I bought this one because I saw so many good reviews that I had to try it. And.. Mmm.. I can’t say that I share the excitement. I find the texture too thick and heavy, and it doesn’t separate and lift my lashes as I would expect it to. It’s not a bad mascara, just not one of the best I’ve tried.

The lips

Lip mousse | Urban decay

Lately, I’m really into “powder like” lips. One of my favorite products is the “Poudre a levers” by Chanel. So, when I saw this one, I had to try it! And I loved it. It has a super strong pigment, and gives a matte “moussy” effect to the lips. I think that the fact that I apply it with my finger helps to get the effect of “smudged lips” – when you look like you spent the day eating popsicles. Another thing I like about it is that it’s long-lasting without drying the lips.

See you in the next look!
